Are Partition Screens Suitable For A Warehouse?

As a UK office screen manufacturer we’re often asked about the environment our screens can be used and which materials are best suited. Most recently, we’ve been asked frequently on how to add freestanding screens to a warehouse space and how to maximise the use of the chosen screens.

Firstly, whilst our screens are called office screens, the available uses extend well beyond the office and can be used in new and creative ways. The warehouse environment is generally industrial and with that comes more dust and dirt then normal due to deliveries and moving of packages and assembling of products.

To suit the warehouse environment, we’d suggest staying away from fabrics as they’re harder to clean and keep in good conditions in a space where high volumes of dust and dirt are possible. Hard and easy to clean surfaces will fair better in such an environment. Materials like laminate and acrylics are the ideal option and come in various styles based on the requirement.

If no vision is needed into the warehouse, then a full laminate partition screen fits the bill, offering a white gloss laminate screen from top to bottom. What’s more, the laminate finish accepts drywipe pens so workloads and department lists can be added and updated daily.

Alternatively, a combination of acrylic and laminate provides a mixture of privacy and vision. Adding a small window at the top of the laminate panel enables more light into the work space and make it’s possible to see into the space, without having the full warehouse areas on show. Make use of the linking strips on the side of the partition screens to connect various screens together, resulting in a width of choice or boxing in and creating clear divide between areas and work stations.

One of the most important factors of acrylic and laminate materials is the ability to wipe clean. Both aspects are easy to clean and sanitise, meaning the screens can be looked after and kept in great condition, even in a fast paced industrial setting.
