Simple ways to reuse your old or second iPad

Simple ways to reuse your old or second iPad

Apple is constantly bringing out new models with better technology and software. However, once you buy a new iPad – your old one may seem a little redundant. While most of us hand our old tech items to family members, there are other ways you can repurpose them as well.

Turn it into a digital photo frame.

If you are hosting a big event, like a wedding or anniversary party, you could use your old iPad as a digital photo frame. People can see a display of photos of the happy couple as they walk into the event. Digital frames can cost over £100, so it is far more affordable to reuse your old iPad instead.

Sell it

Sell your iPad if you don’t need it anymore so someone else can make use of it. You can earn some extra cash, and another person can use it as a cookbook, e-reader or maybe even a security camera. Win, win!

Use it as a cookbook or kitchen TV

Clear your iPad from all apps and only install a few of your favourite cooking apps. You can browse new recipes and follow them on your iPad when you are in the kitchen. Make sure to get an iPad stand to view the recipes when you are busy cooking. You don’t need to worry about any oil splatters or stains on the screen either – just wipe them off and carry on.

Or you could use your iPad to watch TV in the kitchen by placing it on a stand next to the cooker. Fry your veggies and catch up on the latest Netflix series at the same time – talk about multi-tasking.

Turn it into a security camera feed monitor.

Find a power source and mount your iPad outdoors to use as a security camera. You will need to buy some protective gear to prevent the elements from breaking it. Use iCloud storage to save your security footage in your home and run a video app over your home WiFi.

Use as a dashcam

One of the most popular ways to repurpose an iPad is to use it as a dashboard camera. You can mount your iPad on the dashboard to capture any potential traffic incidents. Make sure you have lots of video storage on the iPad to hold all of the footage. If any incident does occur, your iPad footage can protect you from fraud claims.

Don’t throw your old iPad in the bin – repurpose it!
