5 Common Drive-Thru Technology Mistakes To Avoid In 2022
Common Drive-Thru Technology Mistakes To Avoid In 2022

Drive-Thru technology is one of the best things that could happen to people who usually prefer eating out due to their hectic schedules and tough job. These Drive-Thru restaurants are also known as Quick Service Restaurants in some states. The main idea behind introducing this system was to provide quality food to the customers in no time. It has been observed through research that drive-thru restaurants have contributed in increasing around 70% of the sales. However, some technical mistakes really need attention and must be avoided to make the drive-thru system more efficient and successful.

    Bad Audio Quality

Bad audio quality can drive away potential customers instead of attracting them. Therefore, using the best audio technology for your drive-thru restaurant is very important, i.e., the mic and speakers. The right audio drive thru technology can speed up service and improve order accuracy for greater customer satisfaction and bolsters profitability. However, if your audio technology isn’t working the way it should, it will make communication difficult and create problems that might even result in losing customers. Also, the mic and speaker should have at least a 5 to 6 inches gap between them.

    Improper Placement of Menu Board

In Drive-Thru restaurants, the menu board must not be placed too close. Instead, it should be huge and placed so that the menu board is visible to at least two to three cars in the lane.

Also, don’t hang the menu board on the wall as it will be difficult for all the people in the car to see it. Instead, it should be placed in such a way that the passengers in the car could go through it quickly.

    No Confirmation Screen

Most of the drive-thru restaurants don’t have a visual confirmation screen. However, a visual confirmation screen can improve the customers’ experience and help avoid any sort of misunderstanding or confusion that often occurs during order confirmation. Hence, restaurants must pay attention to this and add visual confirmation screens in their drive-thru system.

    Outdated Technology

We all are well aware that technology is growing and improving rapidly. Therefore, it is very important for the restaurant service providers, especially those operating the drive-thru system, to keep their systems updated as it will increase their efficiency and improve the customers’ experience.

    Lousy Graphic Display

Last but not least, the drive-thru restaurants must pay attention to the graphical display. The screens in the kitchen must be visible to the staff. Furthermore, the data displayed on these screens must be easy to read. This will help arrange and organize the order in a proper and balanced way.

So, these were some crucial elements that drive-thru restaurants must pay attention to. A perfect drive-thru restaurant could be very beneficial for both the customer and the restaurant itself. The Latest and the right technology would bring convenience to your staff as well as your customers. In contrast, outdated technology and poor systems might increase the order delivery time and also result in declining sales.
