Experts say that indoor plants are easier to care for than those outdoors. However, you may have tried to bring one into your Skye at Holland condo, and unfortunately, it didn’t survive. Though it wouldn’t hurt to try again, here are five tips you should know to make your indoor plants thrive.

Don’t Hide Them in the Dark

Indoor plants are generally regarded as low-light plants, meaning they can survive where there’s little light. The only problem is that they won’t thrive or grow as intended. There’s a simple fix to this- position them where they could get bright and indirect light most of the day. It could be beside a window or near a glass door.

    Are They Pet-Friendly?

Here’s something pet owners will want to consider when taking home a plant. For your pet’s and plant’s sake, you should buy something that’s non-toxic and safe to ingest. A curious pet might do more than just sniff the new addition- they might try to get a taste as well.

    Don’t Forget to Water!

It’s true that plants like the jade plant and snake plant need less water, but you should remember to water them from time to time. To make sure you’re not overwatering, check the soil first using your eyes and fingers.

Research Plants Compatible with Your Climate

It’s easier to care for plants that are native to your country or climate. They are attuned to the weather patterns and temperature. You can go online and get a list of indoor plants before you head out and buy several.

Start with Easy Care Plants First

Beginners will want to choose plants that are hardy and adapt to vigorous watering. You might get carried away and think that they need water every day. Lucky bamboo and zebra plants are great as starter pieces for your condo.
