If you’ve ever dreamed of standing atop a hill with misty skies above, calm waters below, and nothing but peace around you, the Bahubali Hills in Udaipur are your calling. This hidden gem has quickly become one of the most loved offbeat spots in Rajasthan, offering breathtaking views and a rewarding short trek.

Whether you’re a travel photographer, a nature lover, or just someone looking for a peaceful break, the Bahubali Hills offers everything you didn’t know you needed.

    Where are the Bahubali Hills?

The Bahubali Hills are located near Badi Lake, around 12 kilometres from Udaipur. Tucked away in the Aravalli ranges, it remains one of those places that is neither crowded nor touristy.

Wondering how this artificial lake got its name? Well, the spot is named after the iconic sage Bahubali, who meditated in the hills around 300 years ago.

To get there, book car rentals in Udaipur, easily available, allowing you to explore not just the Bahubali Hills but other hidden spots around the lake in comfort.

    The Trek Experience

For most travellers, it offers the right amount of adventure among the royal palaces and heritage sites. The trail is around 1 km long, which involves climbing up rocky steps and natural slopes.

There is no formal trekking path, so sturdy shoes and a sense of direction will definitely help you. Early morning or late afternoon are the best times to start this trek, as these hours bring cooler weather and soft golden light that makes the views even more magical.

All you have to do is book a cab service in Udaipur to explore this hidden gem without any hassle.

What Makes the Bahubali Hills Picture Perfect?

Once you reach the top, it is easy to understand why the Bahubali Hills have become a favourite among Instagrammers and travel bloggers. The hill offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding lakes, forested areas, and the mighty Aravalli hills.

The crown jewel of this place is Badi Lake, which is a serene body of water that reflects the sky like a mirror. The lake is home to one of the rare species of fish called Mahseer, also known as Tor Khudree. There are several rocks and natural platforms where you can sit, relax, and take in the view.

It is also a great place for photography where you can capture the best sunrise or sunset photos for that “wow” factor. Every angle here feels like a postcard with panoramic shots of the Aravalli hills.

The entry fees for visiting the Bahubali Hills in Udaipur are INR 10. However, there is no formal authority to collect the fees.

You can reach there comfortably by hiring a cab service in Udaipur. Many local drivers are familiar with the location and can even suggest more nearby spots like Shikarbadi for a complete day trip.

    Bahubali Hills Temple: Major Attraction

At the base of the hill, before you begin your climb, you will come across a small but peaceful Bahubali Hills temple. It is dedicated to a 28-foot-tall idol of Lord Bahubali, which you can easily witness from a kilometre away.

The temple structure is simple yet serene, often surrounded by blooming flowers and the soft rustling of trees. It is considered to be one of the devoted pilgrimage sites of Jains and is considered an Atishay Kshetra, which means a place of miracles.

You have to climb at least 50 steps to witness the idol of Babubali. So, opt for car rentals in Udaipurto comfortably reach the temple and explore at your own pace.

How to Reach the Bahubali Hills

There are various ways through which you can reach the Bahubali Hills in Udaipur:

    By Air

The nearest airport to Bahubali Hills is Maharana Pratap Airport (UDR) in Udaipur, about 34 km away. From there, you can book a taxi service to reach the hills conveniently.

    By Train

Udaipur has two railway stations, both extensively connected with all the major cities: Rana Pratap Nagar Railway Station (18 km away) and Udaipur City Railway Station (16 km away). From either of these stations, the hills are only a 40-minute drive away.

    By Road

The Bahubali Hills are 15.2 km away from the Udaipur city centre, which is approximately a 33-minute drive. Once you reach the hills, you can hike up to 1 km to reach the viewpoint.

    Wrapping Up

The Bahubali Hills are proof that some of the most memorable travel experiences come from the simplest choices. If you’re planning a trip to Udaipur and looking for something beyond the palaces and lakes, this short hike to witness the panoramic view of Badi Lake and Aravalli Hills is a must.

And to make your travel smooth and flexible, booking with Savaari Car Rentals can be a great option. With their trusted network and easy booking system, explore the Bahubali Hills at your own pace.
