The first social media platform that was created was back in 1997. This platform was a way for people to share photos and stay connected. It wasn’t very impressive – as social media platforms today go – but what it did was extraordinary. It paved the way for the future. A future in which we now have so many social media platforms that it is almost difficult to keep up.
The concept of social media platforms was for people to stay connected with friends and family. It was a way to show your loved ones what you are doing and what you are thinking. It has however evolved way beyond that. Today social media is probably the number one tool to use as a way of marketing yourself and your brand, if you stay on top of it. Here are some tips on how to do just that.
Consistency Is Key
Social media platforms work with algorithms that monitor your page. These algorithms not only monitor what you do, but also how often you do it, pairing it up with other people that do similar things. It also measures how often other people see what you do and how consistently your doings are clicked on by other users of the same platform.
This means that you have to stay consistent to be on top. One post, once a week is not going to get you noticed. You need to consistently post on just about a daily basis. When the modern-day alchemy – algorithms – measure your app, it is then able to constantly push out your posts to other people. The more you have that other people can click on the better your posts will perform on the internet. It’s all about the clicks.
Hashtag To Your Advantage
Using the correct hashtags can save or sink your posts. Hashtags are used by the alchemical algorithm to push your post into the right direction so that other people with similar interests can see what you are posting about. It is therefor incredibly important that the hashtags that you use stay relevant to the post that you are making.
It is however important not to keep your hashtags too open ended. Yes, an open-ended hashtag like ‘#vegan’ might have millions of followers, but because it is so broad, very few people will actually see it. Rather narrow it down to perhaps something like ‘#homecookedvegan’. This tag will also have many followers, but it has a better chance of showing up on a search. Vegan is of course just an example of what is currently trending.
Interact With Your Target Audience
Everybody likes to be acknowledged. Interacting with your target audience lets them know that you care about them in the same way that playing online helps you earn real money. It lets them know that even though you are this impressive brand, you are still taking time to interact with them. This makes them interact more with you and the more they interact the stronger your online presence gets. It also has the added benefit of showing that you are a nice person.
