    In the world today, legal representation as a career is crucial and has diversified opportunities when it comes to serving different entities and people at different levels and capacities. There are many thriving businesses in our community like criminal lawyers Sydney who offer different legal services from criminal to personal injury representations. There are marketing strategies in advertisements on different platforms that different legal firms use to attract more traffic to hire their services.

    When growing up, the young minds are determined to become lawyers in their near future, and some keep their aspirations alive and pursue their dream careers. A lawyer has several responsibilities and duties that should be fulfilled before representing a person in a court of law. They conduct quantitative and qualitative research on the laws and possible decisions applicable to a particular client’s case.

    Criminal defence attorneys defend people in different fields, entities, and organizations who have been charged with committing a certain crime. The lawyers can handle diversified cases, including fraud and domestic violence. Most of the criminal attorneys offering their services to the general public started their careers as prosecutors or public defence. There are several steps that any interested individual has to go through to become a criminal attorney.

    ·         Earning a bachelor’s degree

    One has to earn a bachelor’s degree so that they can qualify to join a law school. For law school admission, there are no required courses or majors that are recommended. Although, it is advisable to ensure that one picks on courses that can develop one’s skills required in reading, public addressing, detailed research, writing, and relevant logics. There are law schools that prefer selecting students to join their law courses that have initially undertaken the courses that are intellectually challenging.

    ·         (LSAT) undertake the law school admission test

    The law school admission test is a requirement to take the scores required in the law school application process.  The law school admission council usually administers the law school admission tests, and it is used to base the students reading, reasoning, comprehension critical thinking and writing skills. The test has given sections, and they are all administered to the interested parties, and they are in a multiple-choice format. One can retake the test if they feel like they have not performed their level best in the previous test.

    ·         Earning Juris Doctor degree

    Most of the students in different schools question how long it takes for one to become an attorney. The time frame depends on the time one takes to obtain the necessary qualifications in terms of degrees. The expected time to earn the Juris Doctor degree is here years after one has completed their studies.

    Law school has different courses that a person has to start with, like constitutional law, legal writing, and corporate law. After completing the courses, one then directly takes the elective courses depending on their interests. During the study period, one may be required to participate in activities such as writing a legal journal.

    ·         Clerkship considerations

    When one is still studying, there may be requirements of completing a summer or part-time clerkship in an organization dealing specifically with law. The clerkship enables the student to gain valuable insights into how the law works in different places like law firms, corporate offices or government agencies. Students who are determined and duly deliver their duties can land employment after graduating.

    ·         Passing state bar exams

    In most countries like in the United States, before any individual is allowed to practice law within their jurisdiction, one must pass the state bar exams and obtain a practising license. There are places and states that require a person to pass the normal written exam and another ethics written exam. If one is interested in practising law in different states or geographical locations, one has to pass all the exams as per the state.

    In conclusion, for one to become a licensed lawyer, one must have the required education requirements and pass exams set to earn a practising license that can be revoked if there is any misconduct. The newly licensed attorneys are advised to work under experienced barristers to increase and sharpen their skills. At the same time, they build on their working relationships with people in the same field to effectively start and manage their law practice.
