There’s probably no greater need for assistive tools than in math. Fortunately the online world is full of helpful AT tools that allow young children to calculate, compute and arrive at the right answer.

Here are 3 places where you can get assistive technology for math.

    On a Computer

Most computers will have math assistive tools that make working with numbers easier. They’re usually included in the operating system and can be called up in just a few clicks.

Examples include calculators and spreadsheet programs that let you tally up and get the total of a problem you have. These programs are lightweight and won’t take up too much memory, processing power or hard disk space.

    On Browsers

The internet is full of wonders and tools that can help make life easier. This includes a plethora of math tools that can assist you anytime you need them.

There are dedicated websites that teach you how to calculate, e.g., kilograms to milligrams, meters to miles and gallons to liters, among others. They explain the concept and can be bookmarked if you ever need an online resource when you encounter the same math problem.

Browser assistive math tools won’t require a download or an installation. Just visit the site, input the problem and the results are near-instantaneous.

    On Your Smartphone

Your mobile is already a useful daily tool. You can make calls, text or go online with an internet connection.

Like the computer, math tools such as calculators are already built in. The availability of apps make it a complete resource not just for math but for all subjects, including Science, Arts and Geography, among others.

You can add or remove apps as needed via the App Store or the Play Store. It’s convenient and allows you to bring your math assistive tools anywhere.
