Tired of the two-hour cooldown after losing your insured weapon in DMZ? Dead Drops are the secret to slashing that timer by turning loot into time. This guide maps out every Dead Drop location across Al Mazrah, Ashika Island, and Vondel (Al Mazrah Dead Drops).

Each drop is in a major Point of Interest (POI), but they vary greatly in enemy traffic. Here are the Al Mazrah locations:

    • Al Mazrah City
    • Zarqwa Hydroelectric
    • Rohan Oil
    • Al Sharim Pass
    • Zaya Observatory
    • Akhdar Village

While the Zaya Observatory drop is notoriously dangerous, the easiest dead drop to access in DMZ is often Al Sharim Pass. For a safer run, head to the gas station on the east side of the pass. The dumpster is tucked neatly behind the building, offering solid cover from the main road.

Dead Drop Locations on Ashika Island and Vondel

The smaller maps of Ashika Island and Vondel have more concentrated Dead Drop locations, making them easier to memorize for a quick mission drop-off or to offload cash before a risky exfil. Look for the special white dumpsters in these POIs:

    • Ashika Island: Town Center, Oganikku Farms, Beach Club
    • Vondel: University, Fire Dept., Museum, Zoo

Many DMZ Phalanx mission objectives will send you to Vondel’s University. As shown on the map below, you can find this Dead Drop on the northeast side of the area. It’s in an alley between the Gas Station and the waterfront, a common spot for ambushes—so approach with caution.

How Dead Drops Reduce Your Cooldown

Using a Dead Drop fundamentally changes how you play. Instead of waiting out a long cooldown, every valuable item or stack of cash becomes a way to get your insured loadout back faster.

The formula is simple: every $1,000 of value deposited into a Dead Drop reduces your insured weapon cooldown by 30 seconds.

Pro Tip: If a Dead Drop seems to be not working, you’re likely not close enough. You must stand directly in front of the dumpster to deposit items.

This knowledge introduces a new tactical choice to your endgame: personal exfil to secure cash for your next deployment, or use a Dead Drop to ensure your favorite weapon is ready sooner. The choice is yours.
