Path of Exile 2 recently launched its major update, Patch 0.3, known as The Third Edict, on August 29, 2025. This update is designed to address many community concerns and reshape key systems, most notably, trading.

A Major Overhaul: What The Third Edict Brings

The Third Edict isn’t just a balance patch; it’s a comprehensive overhaul. Players gain access to Act 4, set in the non‑linear Karui Archipelago, featuring eight islands, over 100 new monster types, 16 areas, and more than a dozen new bosses.

Cruel difficulty is removed and replaced with three Interlude Acts, seamlessly bridging the campaign to endgame and offering about 35 new zones and 24 major battles combined.

The patch also adds the Rise of the Abyssal League, unleashing Abyssal fissures, dangerous modifier-bearing enemies, and deep rewards, including lineage support gems and powerful crafting materials.

    Other exciting features include:

    • Sprint mechanics, allowing faster traversal with tactical risk (you fall if hit mid‑sprint).
    • A revamped support gem system, removing previous copy‑limits and introducing tiers plus powerful lineage supports.
    • Extensive class rebalances and passive‑tree expansions, including new notables, reduced attribute requirements, and accuracy overhauls.

Game director Jonathan Rogers emphasised that this patch aims to “fix every problem anyone has” by implementing system-wide improvements across the board.

    Trade Reimagined: Asynchronous Trading Arrives

Perhaps the most impactful change for traders: the long-dreamt asynchronous trade system is finally here. Players no longer need to be online to buy or sell items.

    Here’s how it works:

    • Meet Ange, an NPC in Act 4’s Kingsmarch, who serves as your merchant agent.
    • You can list PoE 2 items in a dedicated Merchant’s tab in your stash with fixed prices.
    • Other players can browse listings via the commerce site, then teleport directly to your hideout and complete purchases even while you’re offline. A small gold fee covers the service.
    • Premium stash tabs owned before the update can be converted to Merchant’s tabs through the official site.

This system transforms how PoE 2 trade functions: no more waiting for responses, trade messages, or coordinating offline shopping and selling; trade is now seamless.

Market Impact: What This Means for Players

    1. Effortless Trading

With asynchronous trading, the Path of Exile 2 market becomes vastly more accessible. Sellers can list items and walk away; buyers can find what they need quickly and securely.

    2. Better Player Experience

This reduces dependence on external platforms, improving transparency and introducing lowered friction, especially beneficial for newcomers building in-game wealth.

    3. Broader Market Dynamics

Free weekends (August 29–September 1) and increased exposure may drive trade volume and demand in the PoE 2 market, offering both risk and opportunity for traders.

    Boosting and Item Purchase Options

Even with the new asynchronous trading system making the PoE2 market more accessible, many players still choose faster progression methods. For those who don’t want to spend endless hours farming, the option to buy PoE 2 items or use a reliable PoE 2 boost service remains a popular choice. These solutions allow players to skip repetitive grinding and focus on the most exciting parts of the game, from high-end boss encounters to late-league competitive pushes.

Trusted platforms like InstantCarry provide quick delivery and secure service, ensuring players can enjoy Path of Exile 2 without delays. By combining the convenience of the revamped trade system with professional boosting, progression becomes smoother and more rewarding.

    Conclusion

Patch 0.3 – The Third Edict is a milestone for Path of Exile 2: expanding the campaign, revitalising core systems, and delivering the long-awaited asynchronous trading feature. The PoE2 trade ecosystem is now more fluid, player-friendly, and integrated than ever before.
