Dermal fillers quickly, yet effectively correct many age-related concerns. Most patients start with facial fillers in places such as their lips, cheeks, chin, temples, forehead, nose, smile lines, marionette lines, and beneath their eyes.
As volume diminishes around the mouth, lines become increasingly prominent. However, injecting smile lines with dermal fillers dramatically smooths the wrinkles in this area. Results last six to 18 months, depending on the chosen filler. Since the treatment area is one of movement, repeat treatments are necessary to maintain the desired results.

Another popular use of dermal fillers adds shape, size, and volume to the buttocks for a fuller, rounder appearance. This procedure, known as an instant Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), is a convenient non-surgical treatment that relies on a collagen-stimulating dermal filler like Sculptra or Radiesse.
Contrary to hyaluronic acid fillers that attract water, collagen-stimulating fillers add volume by creating new collagen, or the protein responsible for stretchy skin and healthy joints. These fillers also achieve an inflammatory response that provides long-lasting results.
“Unfortunately, with age, the butt area can sag and lose definition,” says Charette. “An instant BBL improves the asymmetry of your body’s profile, delivers lift, and restores a feminine hourglass silhouette. Our clients either pinpoint specific areas for improvement or enhance the entire region.”
Although the results of an instant Brazilian Butt Lift are long-lasting, they are temporary. “Over time, your body will break down the filler,” Charette explains. “Most of our clients see results lasting at least two years, while some see them lasting up to four.”
To obtain the desired effect, most patients need at least three sessions scheduled six weeks apart. The results are not immediate because the body requires several months to produce enough collagen.
“Instant BBLs offer a more natural and uniform result to the surgical option,” observes Charette. Since this procedure uses fillers rather than implanted fat, it increases the skin’s elasticity and avoids that bottom-heavy look.”
How Botox treatments inspire Charette’s clients to feel confident in their own skin
Since its debut two decades ago, Botox has become a household name. Botox uses an FDA-approved toxin derived from botulinum toxin type A to reduce wrinkles and smooth skin. The toxin temporarily blocks nerve receptors on facial muscles to limit their movement, smoothing skin and making lines disappear.
“Botox is one of the most incredible advancements in aesthetics,” remarks Charette. “It reverses common signs of aging, like the frown lines between your eyebrows, crow’s feet, and lines on your forehead. What’s more, new off-label uses for Botox are continually being discovered.”
Botox can also be injected above the eyebrows to give a temporary brow lift, in the neck to smooth bands, in the mouth’s corners to flip up the upper lip, in the jawline to slim overactive and enlarged muscles, and in the chin to smooth out dimples. The end goal of regular Botox injections is to erase existing lines and prevent new wrinkles from forming.
Generally, results appear in three to seven days. Botox is not a permanent solution, so clients repeat treatments every three to four months when their wrinkles reemerge.
