Gaming has come a long way over the past 20 years. Back in the early days, games like Minesweeper or Solitaire kept us entertained enough while filling some idle moments. Today, however, gaming, and in particular, mobile gaming, is a multi billion dollar industry. There are hundreds of titles out there that you can play, either by downloading apps or simply by visiting their webpages from your internet browser.

TV-inspired games have become particularly popular over the past year or two. That’s no big surprise – TV gameshows have been ratings winners for the past 50 years, and we all watch thinking we could do better. Now, it’s simple to find out whether that’s really the case. Here are three classic TV gameshows you can try for yourself from your phone – or from your PC if you prefer.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

First aired in the UK in 1998, this show was the smash hit of the new millennium. The US version launched a year later, and the late great Regis Philbin made it his own. Millionaire has spawned several different games, but the most enduring is the real money Megaways casino game developed by Big Time Gaming.

There are literally hundreds of slot games to choose from, so the fact that Millionaire is one of the most popular and enduring at the most trusted online casinos for USA players tells its own story. There are more than 117,000 ways to win and four bonus features. The free spins feature can multiply again and again, leading to some great returns of you get lucky.

    Deal or No Deal

Another huge game show hit from the 00s, another import from Europe and another that has subsequently found a new lease of life in the online casino world. As a game of chance, this box-opening game was always going to form an ideal basis for a real money casino game.

It’s played with a live dealer, and the format is a little different to the TV show – this time, there’s a qualifying round that borrows from another game show classic, Wheel of Fortune. Get through that, and you are on familiar ground. You’ll be faced with a sealed box, an offer and that famous question. Like Millionaire, this one is available on all good live casino platforms.

    Family Feud

First broadcast in the 1970s, Family Feud survived a slump around the turn of the millennium and has been more popular than ever since Steve Harvey took over as host in 2010. Several developers have worked on Family Feud games over the years, the best of which was launched in 2020 by Arkadium.

Be warned, it is highly addictive as you work through the single, double and triple points rounds. The format follows the TV show and is accompanied by the theme music and sound effects.

    And others

TV game shows are a guilty pleasure we all enjoy from time to time. Today, we can play online versions whenever we like. As well as the above three, other titles you can find online include, Wheel of Fortune, The Weakest Link and The Price is Right.
