Deadman Armageddon is on the horizon, so players gotta start prepping their A-game to join the leaderboards. This game mode is undergoing several changes, so gamers must adjust some strategies to optimize their OSRS gold farms. While DDM retains most of its principal features, there are some updates that players should take note of so that they can adjust their playstyle accordingly.
What’s New in Deadman Mode Armageddon
While most of game will keep its existing content the new season, we are getting some. While not all new, these updates will significantly impact how players go their runs. Here are the changes coming to Deadman Mode Armageddon.
Point System Adjustments
In previous seasons, point systems were introduced to motivate players to leave safe zones and farm certain bosses to achieve higher scores. The adjustments also affected how many points you earned from outside combat activities. Here are the changes we are expecting in this system:
- In the following season, you only gain 10% of the usual earned points after you kill the same boss for the 75th time, which is rounded down. For example, you gain 20 Points each from killing 75 Wintertodts, but you will only gain 2 points starting from the 76th.
- Completing Quests now only gives 10 points instead of 25.
- Leveling up Skilling now only gives 4 points instead of 10.
Points gained from Clue Scrolls per Casket have been adjusted:
- Beginner: F
five points from three - Easy: S
seven points from five - Medium: 11 points from 15
- Hard: 17 points from 20
- Elite: 23 points from 30
- Master: 30 points from 55
Points from completing tasks from Achievement Diaries have been reduced:
- Easy: F
four points from 10 - Medium: 12 points from 20
- Hard: 28 points from 40
- Elite: 64 points from 80
Points from completing tasks from Combat Achievements have been reduced:
- Easy: F
four points from 15 - Medium: 12 points from 30
- Hard: 28 points from 50
- Elite: 64 points from 80
- Master and GM: unchanged
Breach Adjustments
Breaches will retain most of their current features, and we will get additional things for this season. These changes ensure that each Breach will feel fresh but still chaotic and fun. These instances will still be good sources of rare items like the OSRS Fire Cape. Here are the expected changes so that gamers can make the proper adjustments:
- New Region Breaches: These Breaches will follow regular ones wherein monsters spawn in the whole region, and you gain 30 Spawn Points from participating. 10 Breach monsters will be active for 15 minutes, replaced every time one is killed.
- Non-MVP players will now only receive one roll on the regular loot table instead of two.
New Breach Locations:
- Northwest of the Al
–Kharid Mine - Northeast of the Sorcerer’s Tower
- Southeast of Castle Wars
- Southwest of the Combat Training Camp
- North of the Colossal Wyrm in Varlamore
- Northwest of Ortus’ Farm in Varlamore
- Southeast of Outer Fortis in Varlamore
Breaches cap at 42,000 Points.
Combat Bracket Worlds
Players should also know about the current Combat Bracket changes before heading out into the wilderness. This system will impact your PvP the most, so gamers should adjust their tactics around this one. Here are adjustments made to Combat Brackets:
- Combat level three to 50: 10x Combat XP Multiplier, 10x Skilling XP Multiplier, and 2x Drop Rate Multiplier
- Combat level 51 to 70: 10x Combat XP Multiplier, 10x Skilling XP Multiplier, and 3x Drop Rate Multiplier
- Combat level 71 to 90: 15x Combat XP Multiplier, 10x Skilling XP Multiplier, and 3x Drop Rate Multiplier
- Combat level 91 to 110: 15x Combat XP Multiplier, 10x Skilling XP Multiplier, and 3x Drop Rate Multiplier
- Combat level 111 to 126: 15x Combat XP Multiplier, 10x Skilling XP Multiplier, and 4x Drop Rate Multiplier
New Blighted Overloads
This is the latest addition to DDM Armageddon, which aims to put some excitement into PvP. Blighted Overloads are potions you can make by combining Chitin with 4-dose Super Combat, Ranging, or Magic Potions. This consumable can only be taken in dangerous areas. It increases your overall stats but consumes 25 HP in exchange. This potion balances the rewards you gain with the significant health risks.
With all these notable changes, players must significantly adjust their playstyle to reach the leaderboard. Fortunately, the strategy changes shouldn’t be too hard to get used to, especially for DDM veterans.
Tips and Strategies for Deadman Mode Armageddon
Always Skip Tutorial Island
DDM is always a race to get gear as fast as possible, so you should skip Tutorial Island. You can bypass this part by talking to Skippy. He will then ask you which location you want to teleport to from the following options: Lumbridge, Varrock, Falador, East Ardougne, and the Gnome Stronghold.
Fortunately, you still get all the tutorial rewards even if you skip the island. In addition, you get a starter kit that provides you with weapons and combat sigils. We advise gamers to equip Sigils immediately since they will significantly boost their combat efficiency.
Complete Stronghold of Security a Soon as You Can
The 10,000 GP from the Stronghold of Security can significantly boost your progression in the beginning. Shops are the only reliable sources of weapons during this stage since players can’t do dangerous zones yet, keeping the GE empty. The starter pack you get from skipping Tutorial Island already has enough things to let you survive the whole ordeal. Many people will probably be doing this strategy, too, so you shouldn’t worry about getting hit by anything at that point.
Speedrun Quests
Focusing on quests is the best way to power level through Combat Brackets. The 10x XP boost in the earlier brackets also affects Quest Rewards. You gain more experience from completing missions than farming mobs at certain levels. Even though you don’t earn that much precious loot from questing, you are focusing on leveling up, so gear shouldn’t be that much of an issue for now.
We suggest focusing on the Tree Gnome Village quests because they provide significant EXP. In addition, doing related missions will unlock the Spirit Trees, which can help you travel around the world in the early stages. These fast travel options will lessen downtime since Charter Ships and other TP methods aren’t sustainable yet.
Take Advantage of NPC Shops
Everything in the GE, including food items, will be costly in the early stages. On the other hand, shops will provide okay-level items at much more affordable prices, and these wares refresh faster. In addition, they provide sufficient gear for you to progress efficiently in the world without spending too much on GE. Here are the notable Shop NPCs that you should take advantage of:
- Aemad’s Adventuring Supplies
- Lowe’s Archery Emporium
- Horvik’s Armour Shop
- Zaff’s Superior Staffs
- Aubury’s Rune Shop
- Lundail’s Arena-side Rune Shop
- Betty’s Magic Emporium
- Louie’s Armoured Legs Bazaar
- Helmet Shop in the Barbarian Village
Don’t Hoard Items
You will probably die in DDM in multiple instances, so you will suffer significantly from penalties if you fully stock your bank. The main idea is to keep only what you need inside your storage and then sell the rest. Since you lose tons of gold too when you die, you definitely need to invest the money you make.
The idea is to buy something from GE, which you can sell later. Preferably, a lot of OSRS gold.
If you die and lose your equipment, you can withdraw the items from your Safe Deposit Box and sell them immediately in GE. This ensures you have enough capital to start over after losing most of your gear. This tactic is a great way to reduce the impact of dying in DDM Armageddon.
Unlock Areas by Doing Quests or Leveling
It can be hard to train up your characters if all the efficient hotspots are contested or being camped by PKers. If you need to be stronger to fight against hostile players, unlocking isolated areas is a good move. Some places, like the Crabman Cave, can only be unlocked via certain quests or leveling up high enough. These areas are rarely populated, so you can also AFK in peace without a PKer coming in to put you to sleep.
Practice Safespotting
Safespotting is not only common in OSRS, but it has also become beneficial. In DDM, you cannot TP immediately if you are classified as in combat. This makes it hard to get away from fights that are unfavorable to you. However, mobs cannot attack you if you are in a safe spot. Because of this, you can quickly TP out whenever you want and not wait for the usual delays.
Develop More Tips As You Progress
A lot can happen throughout the DDM season, so you should be ready to adapt. Make sure you can adjust your strategies when significant changes occur in the game. Taking notes of as you become better overall.
