We can all play a part in saving our planet by lowering our carbon footprint. You can start doing your part after moving into a One Sophia unit by doing these five simple things.

    Consistent Water Practices

Be mindful when using water in your house or condo. Brushing your teeth, taking a bath, and washing clothes or the dishes are activities we do on a daily basis, and they serve as prime examples of mindful water consumption. Turn off the tap or decrease flow when not in use.

Turn Off Gadgets and Appliances When Not in Use

There are a lot more energy vampires in your house than you’d realize. Walk around and see which ones you don’t use every day, then either unplug them or install a smart plug so you can turn the socket off via a remote app.

    Bring Your Own Shopping Bag

Recycled and eco-friendly tote bags are all the rage, and the fact that they’re reusable means you can save on bags and plastic. Remember to bring your own shopping bag when going to the mall, the market, or the grocery shop to lower your carbon footprint.

    Segregate and Recycle

It may take up some of your time, but segregating your waste will make it easy for recyclers to get the material to create new things. In some condo associations it’s a requirement, so make sure to check with your admin to confirm. Recycle and turn waste into something that can be used in your house.

Repurpose Old Gadgets or Donate Them

E-waste also takes up a significant portion of overall waste, and you can do your part by repurposing them or donating them to an organization or a relative who can still use them. This goes for old phones and outdated devices.
