You are undoubtedly aware of what risks your business faces during off-hours. Unoccupied buildings can be a target. If you have some valuable things or information (data is very important for digital businesses like Alpha Efficiency) that stays at your workplace after everybody leaves, you should consider securing your business when you are closed. Besides, even if you have some employees that just have to be there during off-hours, such as people who need to stay to finish their job or people from cleaning services who can work only when there is nobody at the workplace. You need to worry about the safety of those employees, but also about the security of your business. We can help you find out how to secure your business during the off-hours properly so that you can enjoy your free time at home without any worries about your job.

    1. Replace Regular Glass Doors and Windows

More than half of burglaries involve forcible entry, and you are making that even easier if you have windows and doors made of traditional glass. You should think about replacing it with tempered glass, which is stronger, and it makes much more noise when breaking, so it would draw attention. And intruders might get scared of being caught so that they could run away immediately.

    2. Make it Challenging to Break in

Besides well-secured windows and doors, you have to pay attention to door locks. It would be best if you considered double-cylinder deadlocks for both windows and doors. And, of course, don’t forget to lock them. Also, make sure that all the ways you can get into your building are secured before leaving work.

    3. Keep your Safes Hidden and Secure

It would be best if you didn’t keep too many valuable things and lots of cash in the building, but if you do, every thief knows that you will keep it in the safe. So, you should put it in a place that intruders won’t find easily. Hiding it behind the pictures on the wall it’s too apparent, and you should try placing it inside the floor or behind some of the bookshelves. Or wherever you think intruders won’t look for them. But, even if you keep them hidden, don’t forget to secure them well.

    4. Install security systems

Alarms can scare off intruders, and they will notify the police right away. Police will more likely be able to catch the intruder, and if because of the camera, they might be able to identify him, which will make their job easier. Keep in mind that many criminals observe your building for some time before actually trying to rob it. And, strong security systems may change their mind, so keep your cameras and alarms at visible places.

    5. Hire Security Guards

Security guard patrol will make your building much more secured because they will be ready to act immediately and prevent damage from happening. Thay could be an additional layer of protection with security systems. Research showed that a combination of a strong security system and qualified security guards is the best way to secure your business during the off-hours.

    6. Keep your Workplace Lightened

Your building should be lightened well, during the work hours, but also during the off-hours. If there is proper lighting, intruders might think that the workplace isn’t empty. And, they won’t be able to break in unnoticeable; there is a greater chance of them being discovered if the building is lightened well. Also, if they do break in, they will have a hard time hiding somewhere.
