There is a well-known saying: “Find a job that you enjoy and you won’t work a day in your life”. Many people treat it differently, but how can the employer treat it? It is very simple, in fact. It’s no secret that a satisfied employee is the most productive employee, which means that your job as a manager is to ensure this happiness. Happiness, in this case, will consist in the fact that employees will feel independent and have access to everything necessary for work.

Well, do not forget that the digital environment remains a dangerous place, due to its attractiveness for all kinds of fraudsters. And your employees (and yourselves) can’t be calm and happy knowing that at any moment unpleasant things can happen.

Given that data leaks cost companies a lot of money, this forces employers to implement employee monitoring systems. And, even if they do not have any real limitations, from a psychological point of view the employee considers himself to be disadvantaged. A person from whom this very independence, which he was so happy, was taken away. This creates distrust among employees and undermines corporate culture, as the person no longer sees the job as something pleasant, but rather as duty.

But this certainly does not mean that you must now give up monitoring and let your employees do only what they want. As you have already understood, you need a balance. You have three whales on which information security is built: data processing, remote operation and file storage. Your job is to provide clear rules for these three points, and to give employees an understanding of why this is important and why it is done. After all, when a person understands the importance of things, he starts to treat them differently. And awareness comes through understanding, which is why it is very important to train employees on information security issues that concern them personally.

In addition, employee monitoring software should not be some black box from which you unexpectedly get penalties. The system must be transparent. With clear rules, when and for what you can get punished. Also, no one forbids you, but rather to give your employees feedback to help them increase their productivity. Show them a report on how the work time was spent, have the employees analyze and make corrections to their mode. Do not forget to analyze the reports yourself – this is the only way to identify overburdened employees. Sooner or later, overburdened employees will get sick or their discontent will grow, which may result in problems.

The very fact of using the employee control system should be presented in a certain way. It should not be a supervisor who only waits for the chance to punish the employee. It is a help system that protects the personal and corporate data of each employee. It is a help system that allows you to distribute your time more efficiently and thus less tired and more time to manage. This is a system of help, which allows you to demonstrate to your bosses their effectiveness, and thus to get further promotion, reward, and gratitude.

After all, every company grows. It becomes more effective. Produces more attractive products or provides better quality services. Growth is inevitable if your goal is to build a successful business. And for growth to happen smoothly and consistently, you and your employees need to know how the processes in the company to optimize them. Where there are bottlenecks or poor technical facilities to offer the right solution that will solve the problem.

The task of each business participant – be it an employee or a boss – is to do a good job. With maximum efficiency. And when every screw in this machine will perform its task clearly, without failures, then the machine will work with maximum efficiency. And the personnel control system is just an auxiliary tool to achieve better results, to grow above yourself.

At the same time, do not forget that it is necessary to protect the information that circulates within your company. After all, all the success you achieve depends on this information, which means it must be protected particularly carefully.
