Love is one of the most powerful things you can share with another person. Dino Rizzo, a 35-year ministry veteran and the co-founder of Healing Place Church, says that he loves people because God does. And that’s also why he loves outreach.
Because he loves God, Dino Rizzo naturally loves His people as well. That’s why he works hard every day to serve in any way he can—even if that simply means performing small acts of kindness.
Dino Rizzo says he’s filled with love because he constantly checks his love levels. This is a practice anyone can do by following these seven steps:
1. Collaborate
Working with others is a great way to build meaningful relationships, which are at the core of what creates love. When you work with other people, you create mutually beneficial relationships in which you can share your unique love and receive others’ unique love in return.
You’re also benefitting the greater good, as two heads are better than one.
2. Have Partnerships in Ministry
No one should do ministry alone. That’s why Dino Rizzo has established solid partnerships.
Thanks to these partnerships, Dino Rizzo has shoulders to lean on when he’s feeling down, ears that listen when he needs to speak his mind, and people to support him in all facets of his life.
3. Excel
In anything you do, you should aim to excel. You won’t be the best at everything, of course, but you should at least approach what you do with that mindset.
In doing so, you’ll have a more positive mentality, which can exude to others and create a more positive environment for all—one in which love is ever-present.
4. Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff
If you sweat the small stuff in life, you’ll only end up more stressed. You can become hyper-focused on things that either don’t matter or that shouldn’t matter as much as you think they do.
In turn, you’re blocking out space for love to enter your body.
5. Yield and Wait
Patience is a virtue. Those who react immediately often do so without properly thinking. They believe they’re jumping on an opportunity when, in reality, they may be allowing opportunities to pass them by.
Dino Rizzo prefers to yield and wait. In doing so, he’s able to more fully understand a situation and respond appropriately. This allows him to be more caring, more giving, and more valuable to those around him.
6. Applaud and Acknowledge Others
One of the best ways to show people your love is to acknowledge them and applaud their successes—even the “small” wins. When people feel acknowledged and noticed, they feel appreciated, says Dino Rizzo.
And as a result, they’re more open to both receiving love and sharing it with the world.
7. Reach and Serve
Finally, Dino Rizzo is constantly focused on outreach and serving the greater community. It’s the basis of everything he does in ministry. He believes it’s the greatest way to share God’s love with others.
