2023 is here, and the sustainability movement continues to gain momentum. But, if you’re like me, you don’t have the money to splash out on solar panels or an electric car, but still want to help.
There are, however, a number of ways you can help out without breaking the bank. Today, we’re going to be rounding them up into one list.
So here are some ways that you can be more sustainable in 2023.
Eco-friendly Toilet Paper
Eco-friendly toilet paper is typically made of bamboo, one of the most renewable resources in the world.
Compared to cheap toilet rolls, bamboo also boasts the benefits of being softer to use, and stronger. So not only are you helping the planet, but you’re also treating your own skin better.
Refillable Deodorant
Recently, I made the switch to the Wild refillable deodorant. When you start with Wild, you receive a metal case and multiple deodorant refills.
Rather than using an aerosol, this is a solid deodorant, made from all-natural ingredients. So, it’s better for your skin, and for the planet.
This is a very simple way to integrate sustainable practices into your everyday life, without spending a fortune.
Shampoo Bars
Only a recent trend, shampoo bars are just that. Your favourite shampoos, but in bar form. The ingredients are ethically sourced, and the packaging is fully biodegradable.
A lot of people who make the switch say it’s actually made their hair feel better than their normal liquid shampoo. Many brands such as Head and Shoulders, Lush and Garnier have released their own lines of shampoo bars in an effort to make their products more sustainable.
This is a quick and simple way to help be more sustainable, as well as stay on top of your locks.
Reusable Cotton Pads
Reusable cotton pads have been around for a while, but only recently have become a staple in a lot of people’s makeup bags.
Sometimes known as makeup remover cloths or pads, reusable makeup removal tools are the way forward as opposed to single-use cotton pads.
Eat Less Meat
This one saves the planet and saves you money. By eating less meat, you’re able to slash your food budget and your carbon footprint. Switch to some veggie meals during the week, and see the benefits.
