This game had an explosive marketing strategy that registered 21 million users before the game was even released in 2020. Genshin Impact dominated the RPG scene across the world even after the Covid crisis in China in 2022. For those of you who don’t know, the drastic measures China took to quail the Covid spread took a huge blow to the game since the developers were located in China. With many of them not being able to work, this led to a serious delay in their 2.7 update. Despite all of this, it’s still the best RPG game of 2022. Here are four reasons why you should give this game a try.
# 1 Release of Yelan
Mihoyo released their 2.7 update featuring Yelan as the new banner and Xiao as a rerun. Both characters are incredibly powerful so it will be difficult to choose. We won’t get into Xiao as he is not a new character. Yelan, however, is a very strong hydro support/sub dps. Many compare her to Xingqiu and here’s why. Her burst costs less and has a longer duration. Combining her with Xingqiu and Hu Tao really makes them a powerful hydro applicator. To learn more about the characters and how to build them, check out this Genshin Impact wiki. In my opinion it’s the easiest, most comprehensive one to use.
# 2 Strong Community
Based on ActivePlayer’s site there are 50 million players who play Genshin Impact on a monthly basis. That’s a huge player base! The other major benefit is this game relies on players working together. I’ve played a lot of other PvP games and toxicness is a major issue. Genshin, in my experience, has the most helpful and least toxic community I’ve ever been a part of. I’ve made a lot of cool friends. Many helped me out when I was first struggling with bosses and now I do the same. I hope more games come out like this that makes people work together rather than against each other. Best part is the game gives you the power to kick people out if they enter your world and are being jerks. You are your own moderator, and it’s awesome!
# 3 Huge Map
The world of Genshin is always expanding with new updates. The map is beautiful so it’s great for just exploring. Quick tip: Pull for Sayu to make exploration a lot more efficient. Plus it’s loads of fun rolling around the world like Sonic. Currently there are three main regions: Mondstat, Liyue, and Inazuma. In Liyue there’s a sub region known as The Chasm. In Inazuma there’s six islands: Narukami Island, Yashiori Island, Serai Island, Tsurumi Island, Watatsumi Island, and Kannazuka. Keep in mind you’ll need to complete several story quests before you can enter Inazuma. Lastly there’s a great interactive map that really helps you find the resources you need to level up your
characters.
# 4 Constant Growth
This is more of a personal favorite for me. I think the worst part about an RPG game is when it ends. I love the fact that you can constantly make your characters better and stronger. This allows you to keep coming back to the game even after you’ve finished all the story quests. There’s tons of dungeons and 50+ characters which means there’s ALWAYS something to do. This is very true if you are trying to get all the stars for the Spiral Abyss which is pretty tough and takes some time to do to collect all those precious primogems. The only downside about this game is that Mihoyo needs to improve their artifact system and resin cap. Unfortunately the resin cap is so low it only allows you to farm dungeons a few times a day. Hopefully they will extend this further so that their end game players can play more daily.
Summary
To wrap everything up, Genshin Impact is taking the world by storm for a reason. Since Xinqiu is such a strong, popular character, the release of his five star counterpart, Yelan, makes team builds better and stronger than they were before. The community is very strong and a great way to make friends. Genshin has a huge map to explore that’s always being updated and a system that allows you to constantly get better. If you are hesitant about trying this amazing game. Don’t. Just do it. It’s a very popular game for a reason. See you around traveler!
