Every year, we seem to see a new revolutionary tech release storming the market, set to make our lives just that little bit easier. Whether it’s a new product that we’ve never seen before or a new, more developed generation of an existing piece of tech, 2025 is full of some must-see products that will be taking over households around the world.
Apple Vision Pro 2nd Generation
After the 1st generation of the Apple Vision Pro took over the market in 2024, a year later, we are expecting to see the latest instalment of Apple’s new adventure into virtual reality. Virtual reality has skyrocketed in recent years, allowing users to immerse themselves in a new world, play a variety of games, and even participate in live game shows, making it one of the fastest-growing trends in modern technology. But what does the all-new Apple Vision Pro 2nd Generation have to offer? While nothing has been confirmed, speculation suggests we could be receiving a cheaper and lighter model compared to the £3,000 first-generation model. We could also see the implementation of an OLED screen with 1,500 dpi, along with potential handheld accessories that take gaming on this system to the next level. Finally, the latest piece of Apple intelligence, the M5 processor, is rumoured to feature in the headset, enabling higher-quality games and faster loading speeds. The release of the Apple Vision Pro 2nd Generation is anticipated to be anywhere from summer 2025 to 2027, but it’s definitely an announcement to keep an eye out for.
DJI Inspire 4
DJI is renowned for making some of the most high-tech drones for photography and videography purposes, with plenty of budget and high-end options to choose from. One of the more popular series of drones released by DJI is the Inspire series, currently consisting of 3 different models. However, this is set to change in 2025 with a rumoured release of the brand-new DJI Inspire 4. After the success of the DJI Inspire 3, it makes sense that we would see a new model that can take the series to the next level. A crashed prototype of what is believed to be the DJI Inspire 4 shows a body inspired by the Inspire 3 with rear and front sensors that can be seen on other models, with improved airflow. In terms of performance, the battery life has been predicted to last around 60 minutes, making it ideal for filmmakers, coupled with a 12k video recording camera and AI assisting in recording and the safety of the drone. This drone is anticipated to be announced in 2025 and is a revolutionary piece of kit for filmmakers and DJI fans.
iPhone 17
It wouldn’t be a list of newly released technology if the latest edition of the iPhone wasn’t mentioned. Every year, we see concept images and speculation surrounding the all-new iPhone, ranging from new camera features, buttons and software. Apple has faced some criticism surrounding some of their models of smartphones, from removing the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 in 2016, the addition of the dynamic island on the iPhone 14 in 2022 and the overall limited customisation options, but the iPhone 17 is said to be their best smartphone yet. Predicted to be released in September 2025, the iPhone 17 is speculated to offer a few new features, including a scratch-resistant display, 8k video recording, improved battery life, and an A19 processor that is expected to boost performance.
Nintendo Switch 2
The Nintendo Switch was announced to gamers back in 2016, and was said to be a new competitor for the iconic Playstation and Xbox; however, while at first this console was growing massively upon release, users were left disappointed by the quality of some games and the details that lacked when comparing it to Nintendo’s competitors. The console was a success for handheld play; however, it brought all the classic Nintendo characters to a new handheld device. Now, in 2025, we are set to see the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, which will attempt to address a few fan issues with the first-generation model. Some of these features include improved display and performance, increased storage size, new Joy-Con controllers and backwards compatibility with Nintendo Switch 1 games. There has been some criticism for Nintendo since the announcement of the device, with Doug Bowser, Nintendo’s President, claiming that users who can’t afford the Switch 2 should just use the original Switch as an alternative, which wasn’t taken well by fans. Whichever way you look at the Switch 2, it is an exciting launch that could help to rebuild Nintendo’s stature in the gaming industry.
Final Thoughts
There are plenty of tech announcements that are upcoming in 2025 that are captivating tech enthusiasts around the world in anticipation of their release. This year is a big year for tech, with new bridges into virtual reality, improved smartphone quality, and even upgraded gaming consoles.
