Ever run an old raid in Destiny 2 and get nothing but glimmer at the end? It’s a common experience, but it’s not a bug. The game uses a weekly rotation system that dictates which classic activities give out powerful, farmable loot. Knowing how to spot the featured raid and dungeon turns that confusion into a clear plan for your next gear hunt (D2 Raid Rotation).
D2 Raid Rotation: What Is the Weekly Rotator and Why Does It Matter?
Destiny 2 puts its endgame content on a schedule. Only the newest activities and one rotating “featured” raid or dungeon offer top-tier rewards each week. All other older activities grant loot only on your first clear of the week per character.
The featured activity is special for two reasons: it offers a Pinnacle Reward and it’s farmable.
A Pinnacle Reward is a piece of gear that drops above your max Power Level, making it essential for leveling up. Being farmable means you can complete it repeatedly that week to earn new legendary loot every single time—perfect for hunting a specific weapon or high-stat armor roll.
This creates four key sources for high-level PvE gear each week, per character:
- The newest raid
- The newest dungeon
- The weekly featured raid
- The weekly featured dungeon
How to Find This Week’s Featured Activities
The rotator schedule refreshes during the Weekly Reset every Tuesday at 10 AM Pacific Time. To see which activities are featured, open your Director (the main map screen) and navigate to the “Legends” tab in the top right.
This screen gathers all classic endgame content. Scan the list of raids and dungeons for a special golden starburst icon next to one of each activity.
That symbol marks the activity offering a Pinnacle reward and farmable loot for the week.
D2 Raid Rotation: Your Weekly Checklist for Farming Gear
With this knowledge, you can create a simple weekly routine to maximize your rewards. Here is the process:
- Check: After the weekly reset, identify the featured raid and dungeon in the “Legends” tab.
- Run: Complete each featured activity at least once to earn your Pinnacle reward.
- Repeat: Farm the activity for a specific weapon, high-stat armor, or Spoils of Conquest.
The weekly rotation is your ticket to efficient farming and Destiny’s best endgame loot.
