Coils and magnets are used in many different industries and are integral to the daily functioning of many parts of society. Thanks to their unique properties, magnets and coild have a variety of different uses and can be used for a wide array of purposes.

    Magnets for industrial purposes

Take magnets in the medical field, for example. They are used for a variety of many things like diagnostic imaging via MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) machines, and other applications like pacemakers, hearing aids, and dental implants.

Once unthought of, magnets now play a large role in public transportation. In this industry they are used for transportation systems including maglev trains. Here they can offer propulsion and frictionless support where they repel a train against a track using magnets. ScandiNova systems is known to offer the best magnets in large-scale industrial projects such as this.

Magnets are also great at separating iron and steel from non-ferrous materials in recycling plants. Magnets are also great in other industries where the material used needs to be of high purity.

How coils are used across different industries

Just like magnets, coils are also used in MRI machines, where they can create magnetic fields that will interact hydrogen atoms in the body. This helps to create the necessary images for medical diagnoses. Radio-frequency identification (RFID) also helps to receive and transmit wireless data when used as a part of a radio-frequency signal.

Coils are a main component in wireless charging devices, where they enable items like smartphones to be charged through electromagnetic induction. Metal detection works largely in part to coils, where they hold a place in anything from object recovery and retrieval in object detectors to a commonplace security screening in the airport.

Sounding more like a sci-fi movie than a real-life purpose, coils are also used in gun-like objects called electromagnetic coil guns, where their electromagnet forces are put to good use to accelerate projectiles in the military.
