For any business undergoing a digital transformation, it is essential to find the best SaaS solutions for important tasks such as time tracking, smart monitoring, and payroll. Without these irreplaceable functions, companies miss out on benefits to their productivity, workflow, and employee morale. Furthermore, with the increased prominence of global hiring, the traditional 9-to-5 model for work is quickly becoming outdated. The sprawling nature of modern workforce management requires the most capable employee monitoring software and remote team management software to keep up with international hiring trends and the unique demands of asynchronous remote work.

While high-end solutions from companies such as HubStaff may be the best choice for large enterprises with 10,000 or more employees, many small and mid-sized businesses search in vain for more affordable alternatives to the best time tracking software and the best time tracking apps. WebWork Time Tracker aims to fill this niche by offering more functionality, transparent pricing, and scalable smart monitoring at the perfect price point for growing businesses and startups.

The genesis of WebWork began in 2015 when founder and CEO Vahagn Sargsyan was running a web development company. A software engineer by training, Sargsyan became intimately familiar with the needs of companies from all over the world that he called his clients. When some of his clients requested that his company use a time tracker to provide proof of work, he realized that there was no time tracking app that truly fit his organization’s needs when it came to pricing, features, and ease of use.

“Thatʼs when we had a lightbulb moment,” Sargsyan says. “Instead of trying to adjust our

workflow to an imperfect tool, why not build our own? One that would be developer-friendly, efficient, and packed with features that teams actually needed. What started as a solution for our own team quickly grew into something much bigger.”

By 2016, Sargsyan’s idea had come to life as WebWork Time Tracker. A self-funded product built from the ground up, WebWork was initially marketed to freelancers, remote teams, agencies, and businesses across different industries. The product has continued to evolve, but it has stayed true to its roots as a fully independent SaaS product that helps companies increase productivity and efficiency while eliminating costly and stressful micromanagement. Today, WebWork’s all-in-one platform includes features such as payroll and expense tracking, productivity monitoring, attendance and vacation tracking, and project planning.

Sargsyan hints that the next evolution of WebWork is just around the corner in 2025. He has expressed his desire for WebWork to become a fully AI-powered time tracker, adding automated AI-powered time tracking and workplace management tools. By leveraging artificial intelligence, WebWork ensures clients always have the answers to two important questions: “Is my team productive?” and “Are they working on the right tasks?” WebWork has also introduced the WebWork AI smart assistant, which helps summarize daily activity reports and address workplace-related needs.

WebWork is an example of a company that has fully embraced the digital mindset and invested in the limitless potential of artificial intelligence to chart a path through the future of time tracking software. Through AI-powered time tracking, WebWork aims to change the way small and mid-sized businesses set their employees up for success.
