Gaming can be a form of escape from reality, where one can be free from stress and life’s problems, at least temporarily. Some games are made for this purpose, letting you play, relax, and unwind in your Lyndenwoods home after a long day.

    Stardew Valley

The classic game Stardew Valley is one of the most relaxing games around. The story of the game is that you take over a farm that is rundown and help it flourish. It is a farming simulator type with a colorful art style where you care for farm animals and grow crops. The game lets you play at your own pace. You get to make your own choices, and it does not require you to do everything in the game, nor force you to do so.

    Captain Toad

In this Mario spin-off game, you play as Captain Toad and navigate through puzzles and get the gold star found at the end of the level. Here is the catch: you cannot jump, but you can move the angles of your camera to find a way to get to where you have to go, as this game is a puzzle platformer game. Captain Toad is not too easy and not too hard, and does not take that long to finish, so it is a good and quick game where you can test your skills while also relaxing.

    Animal Crossing

Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the Switch is a no-brainer choice because this is the game that rose to popularity when covid had everyone quarantined, where people were mostly at home and had to find a way to pass the time back in 2020. Animal Crossing is a social simulation platform game where you start life on an island and get villagers to live in yours. This also has a multiplayer online version when you subscribe to Nintendo Online, where you can visit other people’s or your friends’ islands.
