It is the cloud data warehouses that propel retail online activities. Grocery chains are dealing with increasing information on sales terminals, stocks, and online purchases. Cloud solutions are fast and flexible, as opposed to traditional systems, which are usually slow. Streaming services provide real-time information to warehouses to allow decisions to be made on pricing and stock. Businesses migrate to such platforms because they want to perform better and pay less. This transformation favours data-driven retail. In one such attempt, one of the major grocery chains was headed by Suhas Hanumanthaiah.
Cloud data warehouse expert Hanumanthaiah revamped the systems of the chain. He was in charge of a streaming service that was used to transmit POS data to a cloud warehouse in real time. This backed up current reports. Reporting tools were sluggish in query; he set big-database options and reduced the time by 30%. In the case of the cloud shift, the expert strategized the transition process. He would transfer information through data transfer tools and workflow managers. He would then rearrange the partitions and clustering of tables. This decreased 1TB of scans per day and made speeds five times higher.
Important issues were also addressed by him. With his assistance, store data streams have been established in the new warehouse, correcting e-commerce price issues. In the case of business system data, he constructed real-time feeds. Ranking functions were used to do expensive queries of data modifications. He tried two fixes: a processing pipeline or run-to-run cloud jobs. Much cheaper and less difficult were cloud jobs, which were performed every 15 minutes. He also established standard APIs and security policies for ten-year-old past data.
The strategist made updates on more than 250 APIs to process orders after launch. This reduced the warehouse expenses by 35%. Report speeds were increased by 15% in his previous query work. These modifications are part of the complete digital transformation of the chain, as it shifts all applications and information to the cloud. Live feeds on precise online pricing are now dealt with through messaging. Table optimizations before migration provided permanent savings.
His principal undertakings are focused. He enhanced the original warehouse in terms of business reporting. He changed the information connection between antique mainframes and new business databases. He created prototypes of the strengths of the new platform, such as partitioned storage.
Solutions to problems needed to be clever. Some SQL items were overlooked by conversion tools, e.g. views. Hanumanthaiah made notes and wrote them down by hand. File transfers had difficulties with complicated information. He changed to improved formats through export commands and later on by testing other means.
The researcher published his work. There are guides on data modelling of cloud warehouses. One is migration with federation tools. Cloud warehouses are not only expensive in terms of storage but also in scans.
“Plan designs around that”, Hanumanthaiah added. AI and sensors will increase retail information. There will be increased real-time streams and multi-cloud usage. Streaming and serverless tools will be useful as they are cost-effective designs. Such migrations provided precedents of high standards of operation and service.
