It’s easier than ever to travel around the world. There are non-stop flights to practically everywhere nowadays, train services run faster than ever before, more people have access to cars which are a good deal faster than a horse and cart. However, this also means that people often live further from their friendship groups than at any other time in history. Whilst it’s not possible to hop on a plane and see a distant friend as often as we might like to, chatting online is a good way to feel closer. If you’re getting a little bored with your regular Skype sessions, or instant messaging, then try introducing a bit of gaming to your friendship. Getting together to play a game immediately feels like more of an event and it could be enough fun that you don’t miss each other quite so much.

    Party Games

If you have a large group of friends who are spread out across a large area, then getting everyone together can be really rewarding. Although it takes a little bit of planning, organizing an online party is great fun and what’s a party without party games? There is a lot of choice when it comes to online party games that everyone will love, so try to keep your friendship group in mind. If you’re all traditionalists then playing something simple like charades using just your webcams is a great fun and homespun way to have a really good laugh. If your group of friends has a devilish sense of humor then the online version of Cards Against Humanity will go down a storm.

For those who don’t have a super fast internet connection, something that’s really quick to load is essential. There are lots of games that fit the bill but Skribbl is a particularly simple option and it’s free. Skribbl works more or less like Pictionary does, you draw an image for your friends using your mouse or trackpad and the first of your friends to guess what you’re drawing, gets the points. You can make your own ‘room’ when using Skribbl and invite all of your friends individually. This means that you can all be part of the same game even if you can’t be close physically.

    Card and Board Games

If you prefer a game that you can really get your teeth stuck into then choosing something like poker or blackjack might be a good idea. These games both require a bit of quick mental arithmetic as well as sharp logic skills. Playing with friends from almost anywhere in the world is easy, as whether it is the best online casinos known in Thailand as เว็บคาสิโน เชื่อถือได้, or one in the USA, the gaming experience will be the same. Finding a site is really simple as there are plenty of independent review sites to help inform your decision. For example, AsiaBet collates lots of information on trusted casinos throughout Asia, including the variety of games available and the deposit options that players who want to pay to play have available to them.

Of course, the card games don’t stop there. Uno is a devilishly tricky card game that many people will cite as their very favourite. If you’ve not played before then the rules are very easy to pick up but don’t be fooled into thinking that means this game is easy to win. With some forfeit cards so evil that they’ve had memes written about them, in particular the pick up four card, Uno is a game for good friends who have a serious competitive streak. As well as card games, board games fit nicely into this category too. Chess is a great option for those one on one friend gaming sessions and sites like chess.com offer the option to play exclusively against people that you already know.

    Platform Games

The final gaming option is to play the platform games that are in your usual gaming repertoire. The vast majority of modern games have an online multiplayer mode and as long as you’re all playing the same game on the same platform then you’ll be able to collaborate or go head to head. Battling it out on a Call of Duty map and making jibes at each other over the headsets might not sound like the friendliest way to get together, but it’s a lot cheaper than planning your next vacation to wherever it is your friends live and for some friendship groups, a bit of harmless competition brings everyone together. It’s worth remembering too that Call of Duty is far from your only option. You could play collaborative games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, or games from your early days of gaming like Crash Bandicoot or Super Mario, the choice is entirely yours!
